Chakra The Series - Chuna - S1E1 - Automation is Chuna Wrapped In Paan known as Framework

After checking in that broken object definition in object repository for the 14th time in same month Aruni screamed in guilt and frustration. Automation is Chuna! Is this why I learned all those mantras of coding quoted in curly braces? I bear the responsibility to wrap it under Paan and let the customers feel its worth. And thats where he googled "How to make automation robust" and he got the first link titled "Making Robust Automation Framework". Framework he seemed he had heard this word somewhere in the past. Aparajit he had done something similar in past. Aparajit was known for his victories in sales calls. Selling was his superpower. But he had another superpower selling tech to tech-savy customers. Aruni admired him for his ability to sell but he always thought himself as more wise in writing more curly braces than Aparajit, yet why this fate for him? A fate of maintaining broken object repositories. Aruni folded his sleeves and started typing in the language of his fate which required indentation for writing code block. No not python, even before that. 4Test. A language specifically for automating tests. And he looked at calendar on his desktop. It was 1st of April 2009. He kept on hitting keyboard till its last key screamed in pain and said "Enough! I am not going to take this anymore". He motivated it by saying thats going to be last line we will be writing for this project. After that no code needs to be written. Just add keywords in MS Access database and its going to be new command you can use anywhere. He hit that last key and started observing the magic unfolding. Everything is configurable now. He showed this masterpiece to Tarka and he said "Wow this is delicious Paan". Traka thought he will finish chewing this Pan in 2 minutes but the Pan kept on giving him new flavors for next 2 hours. And Tarka realized something although Paan was delicious but it required heavy rubbing before eating. To hide this Aruni said "Its just first time after you put it in mouth there is no rubbing required". The Paan was accepted as the best dish after dinner. But only Aruni knew that after all its Chuna wrapped in Paan of Framework. Aruni was happy that he got remedy to sell Chuna to customers. Its Paan, a Framework.

8th April 2025 fast forward to today, Aruni looking at his LinkedIn wall sees a post from random person saying "Playwright is better than Selenium". He becomes nostalgic and laughing at himself muttering "How could I even think Automation is Chuna in 2009". May be I was new to discover similar to Author of this post "Playwright is better than Selenium". He realized he got to fix the locator in his code and rushed back to his VS Code Editor. And the word kept on repeating in loop in his mind "Locator", "Locator", "Locator"...
