Critical tests at Symbl.ai

01

Turned available capacity into engineering capability

At Sedin, periods of available delivery capacity created an opportunity to invest in skills, tools, and product experiments.

Built practical learning around custom applications, APIs, bootcamps, and live coding. The approach supported Sedstart’s development and encouraged similar innovation in other parts of the organization.

Helped convert 2 leads into client delivery

Customer discovery and technical proof needed to connect directly to an executable delivery approach.

Contributed to converting 2 clients from lead stage to project delivery through technical solutioning, QA and automation PoCs, demonstrations, and onboarding support.

Co-founded Sedstart: from service capability to product

Recurring automation problems created an opportunity to build a low-code/no-code testing product inside a services organization.

Co-founded Sedstart in February 2024, contributing to vision, roadmap, architecture, development, and customer discovery. The product gives customer conversations a concrete technology solution to explore.

Critical test runs: hours to minutes

At Symbl.ai, critical tests and complex real-time scenarios needed faster feedback. I modernized legacy automation and changed how tests created data and ran in parallel.

Reduced critical test execution from hours to minutes. Built a Rust load-testing tool and a React interface to run automated scenarios and support exploratory testing of WebSocket services.

Quality leadership across teams and accounts

At Technogise, quality responsibility spanned client accounts and teams that needed shared direction from inception through delivery.

Led and mentored up to 11 QAs through testing guidelines, technical assistance, onboarding, and knowledge sharing. This work built on consulting at Thoughtworks and now informs testing division leadership at Sedin.

Built a language to solve recurring testing problems

Test data setup and dependent services made testing harder to repeat. I created Corr and Journey Programming Language to express those workflows as code.

Implemented the interpreter in Rust and used the tool for test data creation, service virtualization, and load testing. Applied it to specific use cases in two past product companies.

Made testability part of platform engineering

At Kodo, I owned platform quality initiatives across unit testing, service dependencies, and end-to-end automation.

Introduced Jest and Nock for unit testability, used Corr to virtualize service dependencies, and built BDD automation with Serenity, Java, and Kotlin.

Brought automation into earlier delivery feedback

At Thoughtworks, I led testing for insurance and retail products with UI, API, data, and performance testing needs.

Built automation frameworks in Kotlin and Java, created data tooling, and used Docker Compose to bring up environments for earlier test execution. Supported quality through refinement, desk checks, pairing, and mentoring.
